| Well,
after a good bit of looking, we have found our first
British White Bull. His name is Kentucky Knight Ryder. He
is coming from KY, which is a trip we still have to make.
We can hardly wait to get him here. We are also picking up
two breeding age heifers.
We got our
first hay feeder built recently and the cattle love it. It
took a little creativity, but looks and works great, even
has a roof. As you can tell from the photos it isn’t
very small, and obviously rather heavy, so it was built on
skids, making it easier to move. We are hoping to make
enough of them for each group of cattle by this next
winter.
My husband
Mark has had a blast on the tractor these last few weeks
working on what we call the pit. It is a rather large
area, about 5 acres, that used to be wooded until we had
it selectively cut. 20/20 hindsight, we should have left

alone.
Anyway, there is a large amount of underbrush that has to
be cleaned up before we can seed, lime and fence for the
Dexters. I am sure once it is done they will love it.

We had our
first calves born on the 8th of January;
twins!! Both of the boys and mom are doing great. We are
now impatiently waiting for our first registered dexter
calf to arrive in the very near future. |
